豆浆 really goes with 油条 !! At least that's our conclusion last night at Dhoby Gaut - 要一起吃下去味道才会是最好!

But some 豆浆 does not go with some 油条, at least that's the case for my best friend who had caught the eyes of a smitten girl. I shall keep their anonymity but it suffices to say that the girl was named after a season where leaves turn brown and everything was a romantic hue.

Bur romance was far from my friend's mind when he pleaded with me and his kakis to deliver him from his misery. This was a last ditch attempt since all his endeavours to show his indifference failed - she just don't get it!

Having been hounded repeatedly by her still, he decided to execute Project Winter Sonata... It became all the more imperative since he has received unequivocal signals that she wants to meet him and eat him on his birthday.

With that, I was tasked to deliver a crushing blow for her to beat a hasty retreat by leaving a message on his facebook wall.

Preferring to leave me to my fecund imagination rather than nstructing what to write, I penned,
"David and I suggested that you go to Dempsey Hill on your b'day since it's going to be a romantic hangout for first-time couple like you. Speaking of which, when are you going to introduce WenZhao to us huh?"

As I explained later, the first statement would propel her to ninth heaven if she thinks that she is part of the "couple" in question. But the second.. the mention of WenZhao, will unleash the power of heart-crushing palm (碎心掌)
